Come join McCloud in celebrating spring with the 7th Annual McCloud Mushroom, Wine & Music Faire, Saturday, May 28th and Sunday, May 29th. There will be live music, beer and wine, vendor booths, and mushroom contests and cuisine.

The 7th annual McCloud Mushroom, Wine & Music Faire will be held Saturday, May 28th and Sunday, May 29th. Here's the schedule:

Saturday: All day: Mushrooms are available, fresh, dried & special dished provided by Pan Exotic-Wild Edibles and by The King of Mushrooms and other Faire Participants.

The Mushroom Hunt Contest is sponsored by Mendocino Mushroom Co.. Eric Schramm will be giving free seminars about eh fungi. Vendor's booths open with specialty items & natural products.

Two prize packages have been awarded as part of the second annual Shop McCloud first Holiday Shopping Contest sponsored by the McCloud Local First Network. The contest was part of a holiday campaign designed to promote McCloud, increase awareness of McCloud businesses and educate the public about the importance of buying from local, independent businesses in order to strengthen the local economy.

Heritage Days 2010

The McCloud Heritage Museum, sponsors of this year's Heritage Days, were pleased with the turn-out. Offered downtown on Saturday was live music - a variety of entertainers and musicians, a quilting show that filled upstairs at the Mercantile. Sharon Jackson of Castella provided a demonstration of spinning wool, the McCloud Healthcare Clinic educated about Type II diabetes and smoking cessation.

New organization focuses on local economy

When shoppers take to stores this Friday – Black Friday, one of the biggest shopping days of the year – a new organization hopes residents consider patronizing local shops first.

That’s when McCloud’s new McCloud Local First organization will launch its “Shop Local First” campaign.
