McCloud Arts Society First Benefit Concert

Summary: 
Working to encourage, support, and develop the arts the new McCloud Arts Society announced its first event - a concert and silent auction to be held Saturday, May 26 4:30 to 8 pm upstairs at the McCloud Mercantile.

The McCloud Arts Society's first benefit concert will feature Americana Music by the Springhouse Band. There will be a silent auction, as well as wine, beer, appetizers and chocolates to taste. Admission price is $10.00. The event will be held at the McCloud Mercantile - 2nd floor on Saturday, May 26th from 4:30 to 8 pm.

Bike-toberfest 2013

Summary: 
Celebrating the success of the 1st ever McCloud Bike-toberfest, the McCloud Chamber of Commerce and McCloud Local First Network have begun planning this year's event. It will be held October 12, 2013 and will be bigger and better than the much-celebrated 2012 event.

This year’s Bike-toberfest will be bigger and better, reflecting our experience, feed-back from attendees, and specific training for holding bicycle events. The new 100k ride should attract a new level of rider. We’re planning additional outreach, making more use of email and other electronic outreach that will include our sponsor’s names and logos.

The 2013 events will be:
 100K round trip bike ride from Pilgrim Creek to Harris Springs,
 50K round trip ride to the McCloud Dam,
 10K and 5K run around McCloud
 Professional cyclo-cross rides for various levels of ridership

A group of local citizens collaborated and developed a new website called McCloudSki.com to promote McCloud as the Mount Shasta Ski Park Resort Town.

Envisioning McCloud as THE Mt. Shasta Ski Park Resort Town and a great destination for winter travelers, McCloud business owners, graphic artists, marketers, and web developers collaborated to develop a campaign to get more visitors to stay in McCloud during the winter months.

Bike-toberfest Is a Great Success

Summary: 
Almost 500 people enjoyed a beautiful fall day of bike-riding, walking, shopping and dining Saturday, October 13 in McCloud. More than a hundred persons participated in events: a 30 mile ride to the dam, a guided ride around town, a shorter walk around town, and the kid's bike rodeo.

Almost 500 people enjoyed a beautiful fall day of bike-riding, walking, shopping and dining Saturday, October 13 in McCloud. More than a hundred persons participated in events: a 30 mile ride to the dam, a guided ride around town, a shorter walk around town, and the kid's bike rodeo. Ride-On set up a challenging Cyclo-cross course downtown and 50 riders of various levels participated in three different races. Twenty-two children had their chance on the course, much to the delight of on-lookers.

McCloud Bike-toberfest Planned for October 13

Summary: 
The McCloud Chamber of Commerce invites sports enthusiasts of all levels to have a day of fun in historic McCloud. Events include a 30 mile round-trip bike ride to McCloud Dam, a 5 mile bike ride through town, a 5 K fun run/walk through town, and a series of cyclocross races. Music and booths offering food, beer, and a variety of products will fill out the day.

McCloud Heritage Days begin Friday, August 17

Summary: 
Main street McCloud will be enlivened the weekend of August 17 - 19 by celebrations of the community's history. Folks are invited to attend the melodramas, enjoy arts, crafts, and antiques street fair, live period music, and an evening dance on Main Street. The full schedule is posted under "Upcoming Events".

The McCloud Heritage Junction Museum is sponsoring a celebration of local history. They invite residents and visitors to spend Friday August 17 11 am through Sunday August 19th at 2pm in downtown McCloud enjoying a variety of activities. There will be an arts, crafts, and antiques street faire on Saturday, as well as a vintage car and tractor show. Local thespians will entertain with a melodrama.
